JOHN JEGIER
Born 1860 Poland, died 15 Jun 1903 [SBd Tribune <1904 tombstone> ABd Tribune - same date pg 5: John JAGER of 606 S Chapin, shot and killed by Notre Dame Guard. He had been employed at Olivers and was 40 years old. Shot by Deputy Alfred Smith. Buried at Cedar Grove Cemetery. ## from Esary's History of St Jos Co -- in son August's biography: John was a mason in his native country and in 1886 seeking to better his condition in life brought his family to So Bend. Here he followed his trade thoughout his active life becoming one of the well known members of the Polish population. His wife Katarzyna Radomski survives with 9 children: John Jr, August, Mrs Bertha Bartosiak aka Bartosek, Mrs Anna Radecki, Ellen, Frances, Frank, Mrs Genevieve Palkowski, Mrs Helen Salomen, Mrs Laura Peterson, and Leo of Detroit Mich.
