Martin J. Nix was born May 20, 1874, in Bippus, Indiana and came to Mishawaka 41 years ago. He had been employed as a receiving clerk in a warehouse of the Mishawaka Rubber & Woolen Manufacturing Company for 34 years.
Surviving are his wife, Helen "Eckstein" Nix, three daughters, Martha, Virginia and Dorothy, Mishawaka: four sons, Paul, Jerome, Charles and Lawrence, Mishawaka; a brother, Frank Nix, Mishawaka, and two sisters, Mrs. John Garber of Huntington, Indiana, and Mrs. Eugene Replogle of Mishawaka. Services were held at the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
