SOUTH BEND - Andrew Beidinger, 79, passed away in his home surrounded by his family on December 11, 2009. He was born on November 25, 1930, to the late Andreas and Anna (Wukovich) Beidinger in Kroatisch Minihof, Austria. On February 23, 1952, he married Margaret Sonnleitner in Vienna, Austria, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Sylvia (Ben) Novoa of Crown Point; a son, Garry (Sharon) Beidinger of New Carlisle; two grandchildren, Andrew Beidinger and Ben Novoa IV; a brother, Frank (Frances) Beidinger of South Bend and Johann (Gertrude) Beidinger Vienna, Austria; and a sister, Gisela Beidinger of Vienna, Austria.
Andy worked at Orisich Construction Company. After that he was employed at the University of Notre Dame from where he retired. The family remembers Andy as a kind, caring person who loved spending time with family. The grandsons enjoyed outings to Potato Creek Park, long walks at Notre Dame, visits to the Grotto, and lots of bowling weekends. The family sends a heartfelt "Thank You" to the people at Hospice. Their loving care was very much appreciated. "We could not have done it without you." A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 14, 2009, in Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-6 today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made Our Lady of Hungary Church or to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
