Services for Mary Walkowiak, 85, of 426 S. Walnut St., who died at 8:30am Monday in St Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 9am Thursday in St Casimir's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Wednesday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7pm. Mrs. Walkowiak was born April 16, 1903, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. On May 2, 1928, in South Bend, as Mary Micinski, she married Leo C. Walkowiak. He died June 22, 1987. She is survived by a daughter, Cecelia Strominski of South Bend; a son, Donald of South Bend; a grandson; a great grandchild; three sisters. Tillie Goralski and her twin, Madeline Podemski, both of South Bend and Julia Reckel of Tavares FL; and two brothers, Joseph and Eugene Micinski of South Bend.
