SOUTH BEND - Walter ‘Woody' Byers, 84, class of 1950, passed away on June 24, 2017. He was the 5th son of Walter ‘Roy' and Ada (nee Bell) Byers. After retiring, he moved to Sun City Center, FL, from South Bend, IN. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; son, Thomas; daughter, Pamela (Paul) Kunas; his precious grandchildren; and his sister-in law, Dorothy Byers. There will be an inurnment at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota, FL, on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org or the charity of your choice. Published in South Bend Tribune on July 6, 2017
