Amzie K. Miller Jr.. 74, of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 12, at South Bend, Memorial Hospital. Mr. Miller was born on March 20, 1926, in Ligonier, Ind., the son of Amzie Sr. and Josephine (Reese) Miller. He was preceded in death by parents, a sister, Marsha Marker, and a brother Tom Miller. Mr. Miller was a coach at Brighten High School, Lagrange County, Ind., New Carlisle High School, and Adams-Central High School, Adams County, Ind. He then become principal of New Carlisle High School until becoming principal of New Prairie High School from 1969-1987. On July 29, 1950, he married Laura L. Stoner, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Barbara *Robert) Puter of Valparaiso, Ind., and Patricia (Kim) Sauers, of LaPorte, Ind.; a son, Michael Miller, of New Carlisle, And six grandchildren.Mr. Miller was a member of the Community Church of New Carlisle; a graduate of Middlebury High School in 1944. Graduated from Manchester College, and Ball State University where he completed his masters degree; served in the Navy during World War II; was a charter member Elkhart County Sports Hall Of Fame; a member of American Legion Post 297, New Carlisle; the VFW, Rolling Prairie; and the St. Joseph and LaPorte County Teachers Association. Me. Miller also served on the executive board of the I.H.S.A.A..
