INDEX
[N6319]
Family sources suggest that Wasyl and Eugenia were born in the Ukraine. U.S. Emigration records identify that they entered the country August 14, 1950 departing from Bremerhaven, Germany, August 3, 1950. The vessel was not identified. They were listed as:
Wasyl Lysun, age 38, nationality - Polish
Eugenia age 40, nationality - Polish
Gregory age 5, nationality - Polish
Anna age 2, nationality - Polish
They stated that their departure destination was Richmond, VA.
The Polish nationality does not necessarily negate Ukrainian birth. Following World War Two the Russians, redefined Polands Eastern boundries. It may well be they were born in Eastern Poland or Galicia which became parts of modern Ukraine and / or Belarus.
In 1954 we find the family living at 718 Highland Ave, St Joseph , Michigan. Wasyl is described as a day laborer.
In 1958 we find the family living at 718 Highland Ave, St Joseph , Michigan. Wasyl is described as a Shipping Clerk employed by Twin City Container in Coloma MI.
In 1960 we find the family living at 538 Pavone, Benton Harbor, Michigan. Wasyl employment is not specified
Sometime after 1960 the family resides in Miami -Dade County, where both Wasyl and Eugenia pass. Their grave site is as yet undetermined
