SOUTH BEND - Catherine M. Rapalski, 92, residing in South Bend, passed away at 1:45 pm Wednesday, February 25, 2015, in Healthwin Specialized Care. She was born January 30, 1923, in Highland Park, MI, to the late Joseph and Emma (Jasper) LeBlanc. On May 6, 1961, in Detroit, MI, Catherine married Aloysius Rapalski, who preceded her in death on January 2, 1993. She was also preceded by a son, Stephen Rapalski; sisters, Agnes Sidaway, Mary Manuszak and Margaret Stevenson; and brothers, James, Joseph and Charles LeBlanc. Catherine is survived by her son, Joseph (Lee) Rapalski of Mishawaka, several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. After their marriage in 1961, Catherine joined Aloysius, relocating to the South Bend area. Catherine worked in retail, as a secretary and as a hairdresser. She loved reading to children. She was also a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 pm Friday, February 27, 2015, in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am until Mass time on Friday in the church. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be donated to the charity of the donor's choice .
