Louise Piotrowski

SOUTH BEND - Louise V. Piotrowski, 95, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 1:11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015, in her home. Louise was born on April 29, 1919, in South Bend, to Leo and Barbara (Miklas) Kaz-mierczak, and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed as a Clerk with the South Bend Employment Agency and had also worked at the Bendix Corporation. Louise was primarily a homemaker taking care of her husband and three sons. On October 25, 1941, in St. Stanislaus Church, she married Vincent L. Piotrowski, Sr., who preceded her in death on July 23, 1994. She was also preceded in death by one son, Vincent Piotrowski, Jr. in 2013; four sisters, Eleanor Lesinski, Adeline Marosz, Margaret Meagher and Marie Lochmondy; and one brother, Al Kazmierczak. Survivors include two sons, Dean (Rene) Piotrowski of Bedford, Texas and Jack Piotrowski of Granger, Indiana; two grandchildren, Alisha (Jeremy) Fickle and Kristen (John) Ragan; four great-grandchildren, Brayden Fickle, Dylan Ragan, Hunter Ragan, and Kaylin Ragan; and two sisters, Genevieve Zielinski of Bloomington, Indiana, and Gertrude Ewald of Elkhart, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 3 until 8 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Louise enjoyed cooking, gardening, and the outdoors. She was a master storyteller and knew everything about her family's history in South Bend and the 10 years they lived on the farm in Bronson, Michigan. Louise touched the lives of "oh so many."
