Obituary
On February 3, 2020 Marianne Szweda unexpectedly left her earthly body to meet her Lord and savior Jesus. Marianne was born on August 27, 1963 to the late Mary June and Richard C. Szweda. She struggled with asthma and allergies all her life but despite that handicap she had many gifts and talents to share. She was very strong in her faith and never afraid to share it. She put all her trust in God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. She was a gifted artist and won a 4.H blue ribbon at the state fair for a beautiful pastel of a white stallion. She loved music especially the Moody Blues. She traveled to England and Ireland and made friends that would come visit her in the United States. Marianne was a lifelong resident and graduate of LaSalle High School. She worked for 35 years at AT&T. She was also a longtime member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, sister, and aunt, always putting the needs of others before her own. Marianne would light up the room with her contagious laugh as she shared funny stories with family and friends. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed painting horses. She also loved music and often sang along with her brother Brian as he played his guitar at family cookouts. She is survived by her sister, Noreen (Steve) Hostetler of South Bend, Indiana; three nieces, Jessica Hostetler, Rachel and Jillian Szweda; and one nephew, Joe Szweda. She was preceded in death by her brother Brian Szweda. A visitation will be held at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN from 12:00 until 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2020. A Catholic Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Asthma and Allergy Foundation in Marianne’s honor. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com
