Mishawaka - Sophia Sherbun, 88, of S. Main St., died at 5:03 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, of natural causes. She was born Jan. 7, 1905, in Mala Koponya, Czechoslovkia, and lived in Mishawaka most of her life. On Aug. 4, 1923 in Mishawaka, as Sophia Milulyuk, she married Michael Sherbun. He died Oct. 31, 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Mary VanBruaene of Mishawaka; a son, John of South Bend; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A son Mike died March 8, 1984. SShe was a member of St. Michael's Ukranian Byzantine Church and Alter Society. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. where the Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. South Bend Tribune 5/21/1993 Services for Sophia Sherbun, 88, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Michael's Ukranian Byzantine Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
