ROLLING PRAIRIE, IN - Thaddeus L. Bolakowski, 83, of Rolling Prairie, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at LaPorte Hospital. He was born on June 28, 1935, in Rolling Prairie, to the late Vincent Jacob and Veronica Loretta (Grabowski) Bolakowski. On September 10, 1960 he married Patricia M. Pekofske, who survives. Also surviving are his two daughters, Theresa (Scott) Serry of Galien, MI and Mary (Carl) Wagner of Niles, MI; four sons, Peter (Traysa Lee) Bolakowski of Fort Wayne, IN, Andrew (Judy) Bolakowski and Anthony Bolakowski, both of Rolling Prairie, and John (Wendy) Bolakowski of Chelsea, MI; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Eilieen Garbison of Valparaiso, IN and Betty Ann (Jim) Wardon of Rensselaer, IN; and by a brother, Stanley Bolakowski of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Lynch. Ted worked as a self-employed farmer all of his life. He was a Parishioner of St. John Kanty Catholic Church, Rolling Prairie, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society, a member of the Knights of Columbus of Rolling Prairie, and was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran from 1956-1958. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. EST Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St., New Carlisle, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. EST Saturday, November 10, 2018 at St. John Kanty Catholic Church, 7012 N. 600 E., Rolling Prairie, IN. Burial will follow in St. John Kanty Catholic Cemetery, Rolling Prairie. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested for Masses at St. John Kanty.
