BRISTOL - Thomas R. LaFree, 55, of Bristol, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012, at his home. He was born August 16, 1956, in Bremen, to Richard and Ann (Gilbert) LaFree, and married Lynn A. Reed on Jan. 1, 1987, in Tahoe, CA. Tom is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Patrick LaFree of Bloomington, IN, Jessie LaFree of Chicago, IL, and Kyle (Cari) Sanders of New Carlisle, IN; granddaughter, Zoey Sanders; his parents, Richard and Ann LaFree of Mishawaka; brother, Bryan (Susan) LaFree of Bremen; and sisters, Bonnie (Randy) Suttor of Bremen, Debbie (Masami) Ozawa of Roselle, IL, and Pam (Carmello) Milano of Chapel Hill, NC. He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg LaFree. Tom graduated from Bremen High School and the University of Notre Dame in 1981. He was the owner of Rent-A-Bit, Inc., for 25 years. He was a skydiver and acrobatic flyer, and was proud of his pilot's license. Tom had MS, but lived life to the fullest and was a proud entrepreneur. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 pm at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, and an hour prior to the service at 1 pm Friday. Jim Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Bremen Cemetery.
