[N27971] Peggy Ann (Badics) Oprea
Feb. 3, 1954 - March 3, 2021

SOUTH BEND, IN - Peggy Ann (Badics) Oprea, 67, of South Bend, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 in Mesa, Arizona where she was currently residing with her husband, Pete Oprea. Peggy was born on February 3, 1954 to the late Richard and Litha Badics. She was the 4th born of 11 children. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Badics and her sister, Paula Badics. Survivors of Peggy include her siblings, Pam (Steve) Firkins, Marty (Curt) Lorash, Litha (Luis) Maimoni, Scott Badics, John (Shari) Badics, Jim (Wanda) Badics, Karen Miles, and Christian (Stacy) Badics. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom she treated and loved as her own. Peggy is also survived by Jaydn Donnelly, whom she helped raise and cherished like a daughter. Their bond was one that will never fade away. Peggy had an enormous heart, loved her family, and had a very caring personality. As far as her interests go, they were vast, but if one thing is for certain it's that she loved country music. Peggy also never missed a Chicago Bulls game during the Michael Jordan era and her favorite football team was the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and Indy car racing whenever possible. A phone call from Peggy on your birthday was expected so she could sing ‘Happy Birthday' to you. She would always have a story to tell about one of her nieces or nephews whenever she talked with you. Her stories, often funny, brought laughs and smiles to the faces of everyone who had the pleasure of hearing them. Spending time with family truly was one of her biggest joys in life. The love she gave was immeasurable. Peggy will be deeply, deeply missed. Memorial services will be held this Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Our Lady of Hungary Church, 829 W. Calvert St., South Bend, IN 46613, at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Komen of Central Indiana organization to support the continued research and fight against breast cancer at komencentralindiana.org. Published in South Bend Tribune on Mar. 10, 2021.
