SOUTH BEND - Robert I. Bogol, 82, of South Bend, Indiana passed away 7:30 a.m., Friday, October 28, 2016. He was born on January 13, 1934 in South Bend to Ignatz and Josephine (Ward) Bogol, and was lifelong resident. Robert retired in 1987 from Uniroyal, where he was employed for 41 years. On November 30, 1957 at Holy Cross Church, he married Carol A. White, who preceded him in death on April 13, 2015. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Josephine Ellen Bogol; one son, Lawrence R. Bogol; and two sisters, Helen Grisamer and Betty McCormick. Robert is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Andrew) Smith and Clarice (Ryan) Trzaskowski both of South Bend; three sons, Robert T. (Nancy) Bogol, James E. (Mary) Bogol, and Stephen J. (Karen) Bogol all of South Bend; fifteen grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A Catholic Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Holy Cross Catholic Church, St. Joseph County Humane Society, or the Ice Box.
