Evelyn Ann (Basker) Brosey, 84, formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Thursday, Jan. 7, in the Bon Secours Medical Center, Grosse Pointe, Mich. She was born on March 21, 1914, in South Bend, to Ann and Frank Basker. In 1933, in South Bend, as Evelyn Ann Basker, she married Cliff Brosey, a Notre Dame football player who died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ed, the artist, Gene, the politician, and Frank. Evelyn is survived by two brothers, George from Granger, Ind., and Ray from Providence, R.I.; and by a sister, Natalie Joseph from Concord, Calif. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood, with Rev. Paul Le Brun of Little Flower Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
