[N16394] Anthony J. “Tony” Jokerst of Lakeville, Indiana, formerly of Ste. Genevieve, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana. He was 74 years old. Funeral services, with military honors accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, were held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, at Zahoran Funeral Home in Lakeville. Zahoran Funeral Home handled the arrangements. He was born on March 3, 1939, in Ste. Genevieve, a son of Peter and Katherine (Koller) Jokerst. He was married to Lorraine (Kosch) Jokerst in Ste. Genevieve on April 8, 1993, and she survives in Lakeville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Rodney Jokerst; two sisters, Bernadine (Mrs. Jerome) Zerwig and Regina (Mrs. Kenneth) Scherrer; and a sister-in-law, Lorraine (Pettus) Jokerst. He also is survived by many stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight sisters and six brothers-in-law, Elizabeth (Mrs. Hugh) Kuchlim, Marie (Mrs. Roy) Haimann, Lorena (Kenneth) Sampson, Margaret Roark, Helen (Mrs. Lewis) White, Rose (Mrs. Oliver) Gegg, infant Catherine and Martha (Mrs. Francis) Gegg; and two brothers, Pete Jokerst and Henry Jokerst. Mr. Jokerst retired from Schneider National, for which he worked as a truck driver.
