SOUTH BEND - Frank R. Prikosovich, 78, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at West Bend Nursing home in South Bend. Frank was born on January 13, 1939, to the late John and Mary (Vukovics) Prikosovich, Sr. in South Bend, IN and was a life long resident. On June 2, 2000, he married Lou Ann Gerstbauer-Hill-Prikosovich, who survives. Frank is also survived by one step daughter, Jeannie (Nick) Stouder of Carmel, Indiana; two grandchildren, Gianna and Dylan Stouder; two brothers, John Prikosovich, Jr., of South Bend, Indiana and James Anthony of Vallejo, California; niece, Janice (Eric) Soderberg; nephews, John R. Prikosovich and Chris (Hillary) Anthony; along with wonderful great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Frank was a veteran of the United States Navy. He served on the U.S.S Dixie out of San Diego California. Frank was preceded in death by his sister-in-law Maxine (Wolfe) Prikosovich. He was a proud union employee for 33 years at AM General Corporation. Lou Ann and Frank enjoyed 30 years of travel, fishing, bicycling, dancing and cheering for Notre Dame. Frank was always so full of life and made everyone around him smile. He loved his family and faith. Visitation for Frank will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2017 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN 46628, where a rosary will take place at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity in Frank's memory.
