NEWCARLISLE - Irene M. Wrobleski, 94, formerly of New Carlisle, Indiana, passed away at 12:20am on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, following an extended illness. She was born on June 24, 1926 in South Bend, Indiana to Frank and Bertha (Kucharski) Majewski, both preceding her in death. On June 28, 1947, in Cassopolis, Michigan, she married Clem R. Wrobleski. After 65 years of marriage, Clem passed away in 2013. Irene is survived by her children: Sylvia (Steve) Purichia of Carmel, Indiana, Richard Wrobleski of Hastings, Minnesota, Roxanne (David) Isban of New Carlisle, Indiana and Michalene Kahlmorgan of South Bend, Indiana. Irene was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Lemay of Austin Texas and ten brothers. Irene is survived by two granddaughters, Cori Doron of Austin, Texas and Susan Purichia of Indianapolis, Indiana. Irene was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, New Carlisle, Indiana, where she was also a member of the Rosary Society. Aside from caring for her family, she was employed by the Olive Township Elementary School. She was an avid fan of the television shows, “What's My Line” and “As the World Turns” and enjoyed rug weaving, quilting, gardening, her cat, Simon and her two dogs, Ethyl and Fred. Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on April 8, 2021 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 55756 Tulip Road, New Carlisle, Indiana with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following the visitation. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education & Welfare at https://gotbeagles.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=55&Itemid=37 St Joseph Funeral Home, 824 South Mayflower Road, South Bend is assisting with the arrangements.
