James J. Ornat, 73, passed away at 1:44pm, Friday, June 5, 2015 in Memorial Hospital. James was born June 30, 1941 in South Bend and raised by the late John and Josephine Odynski. James was also preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Taberski. On September 1, 1962 in South Bend, James married Christine (Wituski) she survives along with sons, Michael Ornat, and Mark (Lisa) Ornat; granddaughter, Mackenzie Ornat; and grandson, Lucas Ornat. James honorably served his country in the US Army. Before retiring in May of 2006, he worked at Service Supply for 30years, 15 years as a manager, then at Mid States for 9 years. He enjoyed fishing, watching Notre Dame football, NASCAR and classic movies. Visitation is 3-8pm, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd, where a Rosary will be prayed at ???. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
