SOUTH BEND - SOUTH BEND - Francesca Macri passed away at 7:47am Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Golden Living Center after a battle with cancer. Francesca was born on September 2, 1940 in Siderno Marina, Italy to the late Michele and Rosa (Caccamo) Lizzi. Francesca married the love of her life Domenico (Dominic) Macri in Siderno Marina, Italy on April 29, 1955. He died on January 31, 2016. Francesca was also preceded in death by her two brothers Francesco (Frank) Maria Lizzi and Giuseppe (Lina) Lizzi , Brother in law Rosario and a great-grandson Eastyn Levi Gray Cochran-Macri. Francesca is survived by her daughter Maria (Todd Loughman) Lisenko of Granger, two sons Frank Macri and Mike Macri both of South Bend, four grandchildren Domenico and Gabriella Macri, Madison and Michael Lisenko. seven sisters Giovanna (Rocco) Franco, Girolama (Antonio) De Lilas, Esterina Lizzi, Concetta Scibona, Angela (Cosimo) Cussarini, Guiglia (Domenico) Cussarini , Santa (Domenico) Cussarini, two brothers Nicola (Virgina) and Vincenzo (Rita) Lizzi. Francesca also has numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. Francesca owned an alterations business out of her home for many years along with babysitting. Francesca loved her family and grandkids very much. She enjoyed working in her garden. She never went to school she was a second mother to all her brothers and sisters. She learned to cook, clean and knit. She loved to cook, sew, knit and crochet. There wasn't anything that she couldn't look at and be able to sew, knit or crochet. Everyone that came into the presence of her loved her and said she had a heart of gold. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm Tuesday July 11, 2017 at Our Lady of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 2-8 Monday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue where a rosary will be recited at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral cost.
