Frances Elva Anglemyer, 95 years old of Union, passed to her rest Jan. 12, 2023 at ProMedica Care of Three Rivers, MI after a brief illness. Elva was born Aug. 2, 1927 on the family farm in Mason Township, the daughter of Benjamin and Ethel (Dubbs) Wise and had lived in Southern Cass County most of her life. She was an incredible wife and mother and proud of all the lives that she touched. Elva was married Nov. 28, 1946 in Foreacre, IN, to Warren E. Anglemyer and he passed to his rest Feb. 5, 2016. Surviving are their children, Ethel J. (Dave) Kaper of Constantine, Frank (Debra) Anglemyer of Jones, and Russell J. (Lynn) Anglemyer of Union. There are 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces and nephews and many friends. She was a 'Mother" for multi-generations of neighborhood kids. She was preceded in passing by her parents, all 8 of her siblings, her beloved husband, Warren, her daughter, Joyce Kirkdorfer in 2005, one grandchild, and one great-grandchild. In her earlier years, she assisted her husband when he was a partner in Higley Appliance Store in Elkhart. She and Warren were founding members of Porter Township Fire Department and Ambulance, having delivered several babies during her 18 years of volunteer service. She also worked as a teacher's aide at, Baldwin Prairie Elementary, prior to it's closing. Elva was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, having served several times as Worthy Matron. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Kessington Community Church, 70200 Kessington Road, Mason Township. At 1:00 PM the Order of Eastern Star will start the Memorial Service at the Church, in Elva's memory. At 1:30 PM the Service of Remembrance for Elva will begin with Rev. Steven Steele, the Church Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Kessington Cemetery, on the grounds of the Church. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Kessington Community Church Food Pantry, an outreach program by the Church for the Community, 70200 Kessington Road, Edwardsburg Cemetery 49112. Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg, Michigan.
