Stanley was the son of Francis Malkiewicz and Vollur Koski. On August 27, 1949 in Elkhart, Indiana he married Marie C. (Hudzinski) Hobson. She died September 20, 1993 in SOuth Bend, Indiana. Surviving him is a stepdaughter: Sherline.
He was the brother of: Mary Olds, Sophie Hatfield, Walter, John, Steve (All are deceased except Mary Olds)

He was a World War II Veteran of the USArmy, serving in Rhineland, Naples-Foggia, Northern France and Centeral Europe.
As a forward observer with Battery B 863rd Field Artillery, he was awarded two Bronze Stars for valor.
