. He is buried in the family plot in St. Joseph Cemetery along with his wife and children. His marker is inscribed: "Ojciec / Stanislaw 1859-1940."

Obituary from Sec. 2, p.8 of the 19 AUG 1940 edition of the “South Bend Tribune:

. Stanislaus Styeszewski, aged 79, a resident of South Bend until two years ago, died in his home in Detroit, Mich., at 10:30 p.m. Saturday after six weeks’ illness. Friends will be received in the home of his son, Anthony Steszewski, 1240 Vassar avenue, South Bend, until the funeral, to be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hedwig’s Roman Catholic church with Rev. Stanislaus A. Gruza, C.S.C., pastor, chanting the requiem high mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Polish cemetery. Mr. Steszewski was born in Poznan, Poland, Sept. 12, 1860, and came to South Bend from that country 55 years ago. He was married April 29, 1890, to Miss Josephine Jurek, who survives. Last April the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Detroit. Also surviving are a daughter, Cassie Kloss, of Detroit, and the son in South Bend; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Galazkiewicz and Mrs. Pelagia Klos, both of South Bend, and four grandchildren.
