Godfrey L. Futterknecht
Godfrey L. Skeets Futterknecht, 80, of 706 N. Indiana, died Saturday in the Cardinal Nursing Home in South Bend. He was born in Mishawaka on Oct. 18, 1897, and lived here all his life. He retired from Uniroyal, Inc., after 47 years of employment. On Sept. 19, 1921, in Mishawaka he married Edith Wachs. She died on Nov. 5, 1963. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Leland Brady, and a son, Ralph J. Futterknecht, both of Mishawaka; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Trippel of Mishawaka, and two brothers, Leo of South Bend and Joseph of Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 0 p.m. Tuesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. Futterknecht was a charter member, honorary life member and past grand knight of Council 1878, Knights of Columbus; a member of the Mishawaka Senior Citizens Club, and the Uniroyal Management Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart Association or to the Diabetes Associations.
