SOUTH BEND - Evelyn M. Zakrzewski, 83, of St. Paul's Retirement Community, passed away on Thursday, March 5, in the Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Miss Zakrzewski was born on Dec. 3, 1914, in South Bend, Ind., and was a lifelong resident. She retired in 1977 as a bookkeeper with the Borden's Ice Cream Company, South Bend. Miss Zakrzewski was a member of the M.R. Falconettes Nest 200. She is survived by four sisters, Sylvia Trace, Gertrude Fodroczi and Loretta Bilinski, all of South Bend, and Helen Rafalski of Kissimmee, Fla. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Esther and Rita Zakrzewski. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
