MISHAWAKA - Stephen Pozsgai, 65, of Hoosier Avenue, Mishawaka, died at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, after a long three-year battle with lung cancer. He was born January 19, 1949, in South Bend, to Stephen and Theresa (Vargo) Pozsgai Sr., who preceded him in death. On April 26, 1974, in South Bend, he married the former Rose Shenefield, who survives with two children: Theresa Bridegroom and Kyle (Brooke) Pozsgai, both of Mishawaka; and two grandchildren: Connor Bridegroom and Colton Henninger-Pozsgai. A special friend, Judy Seggerman, also survives with his brothers and sisters: Mary Ann (Philip) Hansen, Erma Salay, John (Glenda) Pozsgai, Helen Pozsgai, Barbara (Mike) Norris and Betty Delchambre; and several nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by two sisters, Delores Stankiewicz and Katherine Cooper, and a brother, Paul Pozsgai. Also preceding him in death were two nieces, Kathy Burkus and Sharon Ladonski. Stephen was employed by the AM General Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 2011. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. David Taber and his staff and also all the nursing staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for the care given to Stephen during his illness. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow the services at Woodland Cemetery, Woodland, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
