SOUTH BEND - Alfonse “Fuzz” Hoorinks, 91, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday afternoon, June 8, 2017. Fuzz lived most of his life in Mishawaka, IN. He worked in the skilled trades as a journeyman plasterer and was a lifelong member of the BK club. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran. He was an avid bowler and loved to golf at Eberheart golf course where he got a hole in one. He is survived by his daughters, Gail Yandl (Donald) and Peggy Buraczewski (Thomas); granddaughters, Amy Jennings and Kristen Jones; great-grandchildren, Rachel Jennings, Abby Jones, Megan Jennings, Maria Jones, Dominic Jennings and Mallory Jones; sisters, Marion Mynesburg (Maurice) and Joann Healy and first wife, Claudine Hoorinks, married for 31 years. Alfonse was preceded in death by his mother and father, Emma and Isador Hoorinks, sisters, Clara Maenhout, Maria Posa, and Loretta Galbreath; brother, Jack Hoorinks; and wife, Delphine Hoorinks. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Miltary Rites will be observed at 7:00 with VFW Post 360 & American Legion Post 161 Burial Team honoring. The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff at Trail Point Village for the great love and care they provided to Alfonse in his last year of life. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request that donations be made to Hospice Foundation Supporting Center for Hospice, 505 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545-5234.
