GRANGER - Steve A. Bacsa Jr., 70, of Granger, Indiana, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in Hospice House. He was born on December 6, 1943, in South Bend, to Steve A. Bacsa Sr. and Virginia (Niedbalski) Bacsa, and was a lifelong resident. Steve retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. in April 2007. He was employed as a Service Manager for 38 years. On June 4, 1966, in St. Patrick Church, he married Beth Anne Niesen, who survives. Also surviving are his two daughters, Dawn Thackston (Scott Vitale) of Granger, Indiana, and Amy (Ryan) Modlin of Olney, Maryland; his son, Michael (Tresa) Bacsa of Granger, Indiana; three grandchildren, Emma Grace, Amanda, and Owen; one sister, Virginia "Cookie" (John) Bejma of Arkansas; and one brother, Jim (Sue) Bacsa of Granger, Indiana. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, in St. Pius X Church. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Steve was a United States Navy veteran. He enjoyed Summers at the lake, spending time with his grandchildren, and Wednesday morning breakfast with "the guys." Steve was an avid bowler, fisherman and golfer.
