SOUTH BEND - Maryellen Amos Bajdek, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of South Bend, Indiana, died August 17, 2012, at The Palace in Miami, FL. Maryellen was born on March 29, 1921, in Goshen, IN, to Roy M. and Vera (Seaman) Amos. On November 24, 1962, she married Joseph Bajdek, who passed away on Dec. 16, 2003. Her parents and brother, Jack Amos, preceded her in death. Maryellen is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (Tim) Lisek of Miami, FL, and Pamela (Richard) Hoose of Pinckney, MI; three grandchildren, Lisa (Carlos) Vazquez, Angela (Jason) McKinley and Michael Hoose; and six great-grandchildren. In 1943, Maryellen graduated from Hanover College. She taught music in Akron, OH, and played the cello in the Cleveland Symphony. Maryellen also taught English at Concord High School in Elkhart, IN, and retired in 1985. Maryellen loved to garden, play cards, and was an avid golfer.
