South Bend - Mardell Marie Goralczyk, 90, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Mardell was born September 4, 1931 in South Bend, to the late William & Emma Grace (Kelly) Davis. On April 7, 1956 in St. Casimir Catholic Church Mardell (Davis) married her loving husband Jerome Goralczyk, he preceded her in death on August 7, 2012. Mardell is also preceded in death by her brother, James William Davis; sisters, Helen (Worden) Custard & Rita (Russell) Benford. Left to cherish the memory of Mardell are her children, Stephen (Sandy) Goralczyk of Manhattan, KS and Michael (Kimberly) Goralczyk, Jr. of South Bend; grandchildren, Ryan Goralczyk, Lauren Goralczyk, Michael Goralczyk, Jr; brother, Donald (Hermie) Davis and sister, Jean (Elmo-Deceased) Vernasco. Mardell was a parishioner of St. Casimir Church. She always had a cup of decaf coffee in her hand, and enjoyed playing cards. Mardell was a calm, loving lady with a huge compassionate heart. An angel on earth, she tirelessly cared for family and friends always putting them first. She was a lifelong Notre Dame and Cubs fan and enjoyed watching them every chance she got. Visitation for Mardell will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
