South Bend Tribune July 15, 1967

Leo J. Banicki, 67, of 1326 W. Dunham St. was dead on arrival at 4:35 PM
Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack. A
retired employee if the Studebaker Corp. Mr. Banicki was born on March 25,
1900 in Poland. He had lived in South Bend for 64 years. On July 5, 1926 he
married Mary Jankowiak, who survives. Also surviving are a son Robert, of
South Bend; two daughters , Mrs. Patricia Szymczak of South Bend and Miss
Sandra Marie, at home; six grandchildren and three sisters Mrs. Carrie
Dobrucki; Mrs. Mary Maciulski and Mrs. Helen Kajzer, all of South Bend.
Friends may call after 7pm today at the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Services
will be held at 9am Monday in St. Casmir's Catholic Church with Rev. George
Szymanowski C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph
Cemetery. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Mruks Club
