SOUTH BEND - Marcelli A. "Sal" Piechocki, 69, of South Bend, IN, went to be with the Lord at 6:30 AM on Monday, February 16, 2009. He was born on September 8, 1939, to the late Marshall and Elizabeth (Nowak) Piechocki in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. Mr. Piechocki was a baker for the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary's College for over 50 years. He is survived by three sisters, Patricia E. Fink of South Bend, Carolyn M. (John) Katz-Reisner of Farmington Hills, MI, and Kathleen T. (Ronald) Camp of South Bend; one brother, Michael R. (Sharon) Piechocki of New Carlisle; nieces, Karen Hay of Mishawaka, Rhonda (Mark) Ross of Portland, OR, Lori (Bob Hensell) Camp of South Bend and Pamela (Kurt) Derr of South Bend; nephews, Richard Piechocki of Rolling Prairie, Kenneth (Cecelia) Fink and family of San Diego, CA; great-nephews, Justin Hay of Mishawaka, Eric Derr of South Bend and Evan Ross of Portland, OR; great-nieces, Kristen (Dru) Sweinhart of Osceola, Jamisen (Casey) Micinski of Mishawaka, Katie Hensell and Cassandra Derr, both of South Bend; great-great-nephew, Aidan Micinski of Mishawaka; and dear friends, Mr. and Mrs. George Lootens Jr. and George Lootens Sr., all of South Bend. Friends and family may visit from 2:30 to 4:00 PM today, February 18, 2009, in the Church of Loretto, St. Mary's College, Notre Dame. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM today, February 18, 2009, in the Church of Loretto. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ministry with the Poor - Sisters of the Holy Cross, Notre Dame, IN 46556; or to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
