SOUTH BEND - Adolph Donald "Don" Kosinski, 86, of Bloomington, Indiana, and formerly of South Bend, Indiana, went to his eternal rest at 4 pm Monday, May 18, 2015, at Bell Trace Health and Living Community. The son of Helen and Kazmier Kosinski, Don was born June 17, 1928, in Anderson, Indiana. Don married Loretta Virginia Zmudzinski on August 11, 1951. Loretta preceded him in death on March 17, 1996. He attended Purdue University and worked as an engineer at Bendix Corporation, where he designed landing gear for airplanes. He retired in 1991. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for over 30 years. His hobbies included hunting, gardening, and feeding birds and squirrels. Don charmed all with his generous and kind nature; he danced the polka with a light heart and a smile on his face. Surviving are one son, Alan David Kosinski of Bloomington; one daughter, Alane Denise Phelps and her husband, Pat Phelps of Monticello, Illinois; four grandchildren, Mary Catherine Kosinski and her wife, Abby Tonsing of Bloomington, Father Joel Phelps of Mendota, Illinois, Scott Phelps of Hanover, New Hampshire, and Neal Phelps of Champaign, Illinois; and his great-granddog, Ollie Pop of Bloomington. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brother, Charles Joseph Kosinski, and his sister, Wanda Chlebow-ski. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2015, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Family will receive guests at 9:30 am, followed by a Mass at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society Published in South Bend Tribune on June 15, 2015
