Sept. 18, 1930 - Jan. 2, 2017
FISHERS - Gloria Kapsa Doyle, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother residing in Fishers, IN, formerly of South Bend, passed away on Monday, January 2. Gloria was born Sept. 18, 1930, to Anthony and Virginia (Borkowski) Kapsa. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan. Gloria taught Home Economics at Clay Middle School for many years, and later tutored students in reading at Eggleston, Warren and St. Adalbert schools. On July 16, 1966, she married James H. Doyle. They celebrated 50 years of marriage last summer. Gloria is survived by her husband, James, daughter Erin (Mark) Arenz, daughter-in-law Hope Doyle, and grandchildren Leah and William Arenz and Ayden and Lyla Doyle. She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Doyle. Gloria was a member of Holy Cross and Corpus Christi parishes in South Bend, and Holy Spirit parish in Fishers. She lived most of her life on the West Side of South Bend, and cherished her large extended family and the Polish community. She knew where to get the best Polish sausage and horseradish. She loved animals and would give stray dogs and cats a loving home. Her faith was important to her, and she could always be counted on to light a candle and say a prayer for those in need. Gloria loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, and would often have Sunday brunch for the family. She loved watching reruns of The Andy Griffith show and her favorite movie, The Sound of Music. She will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, Jan 6, 2017 with visitation at 11 am in the chapel at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers.
