Ronald Lee Szymarek, 74, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 28, 2022, in his home. Ronald was born on March 6, 1948 to the late Alphonse and Olga (Klebusits) Szymarek in South Bend, Indiana, and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated in 1966 from Washington High School in South Bend. Ronald most recently worked at the St. Joseph County Jail in South Bend, IN, where he worked as a Deputy Correction Officer from 2000-2010. Prior to that, he worked as a Supervisor at Bendix Corporation for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn (fiancé William Michaels) Szymarek of South Bend, IN; a son, Chad Szymarek of Colorado; one granddaughter, Keira Catanzarite of South Bend, IN; two sisters, Susan (Glen) Paris of Spring Arbor, MI; Pamela (David) Krawiec of New Carlisle, IN; and several nieces & nephews. Ronald enjoyed mowing his grass and watching the Green Bay Packers. He was very sociable, had many friends, and enjoyed the finer things in life. There will be no visitation or services. Burial will take place in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN, at a later date. Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN is handling arrangements.
