PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Charles H. Auger, 88, of Punta Gorda, Fla., and South Bend, Ind., passed away June 18, 2012, in Port Charlotte, Fla. He was born Feb. 29, 1924, in Laurium, a son of Clarence Auger and Merle Davies Auger. Charles and his wife Laverne were winter residents of Punta Gorda, Fla., for many years.
He was the former owner of Cloud Brothers of South Bend for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Elks Lodge of Punta Gordo and a veteran of WWII, U.S. Air Force. Charles loved golfing, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Laverne of Punta Gorda; his son, Bruce (Marcia) of Granger, Ind.; his daughter, Pamela (Robert) Simmons of Arcadia, Fla.; his three grandchildren, Michelle Auger, Gretchen (Richard) Olson and Megan Simmons.
