Helen E. Stefaniak

Helen E. Stefaniak, 62, of 2026 S Brookfield St., died at 1:20am today in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Stefaniak had retired from the Indiana State Children's Hospital. She was born January 27, 1926, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. In 1944, as Helen Klimek, she married Theodore Stefaniak. He died in 1984. She is survived by a daughter, Sally Marlephansakul of Whittier CA; two sons, Gary and Lanny, both of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Scherry and Clara Karpinski, both of South Bend and two brothers, Clarence and Walter Klimek, both of South Bend.
Services will be at 10am Monday at St Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Sunday at St Joseph Funeral Home, where the parish rosary will be said at 7pm. She was a member of ZB Falcons. Memorial contributions may be made to the St Joseph County Cancer Society.
