SOUTH BEND - Henrietta J. Gerbasich, 82, passed away on Monday, April 27th, at 3:40 a.m. in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. Henrietta was born on October 23, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Jennie (Chrzan) Mackowiak. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Aloysius (Betty) Mackowiak. On April 10, 1948, she married Victor Gerbasich, who survives along with their daughter, Vickie (David) Zakowskii of South Bend; sons, Dale (Fran) Gerbasich of South Bend and Rick (Monica) Gerbasich of Kalamazoo, MI; seven grandchildren, Kris Gerbasich, Kelly (Andrew) Roy of South Bend, Michael (Michelle) Gerbasich of Fort Wayne, Bradley Gerbasich of Kalamazoo, MI, Ricki (Holly) Gerbasich of Cleveland, OH, Jennifer (Brian) Balta of Pasadena, CA, and Jill Zakowski of South Bend; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Mackowiak of South Bend and Georgina (Gene) Szweda of Granger; and by her two brothers, Joseph (Virginia) Mackowiak of South Bend and Clement (Mary Jane) Mackowiak of South Bend. Henrietta was a parishioner at St. Casimir Catholic Church, and was a member of the Holy Rosary Society and Polish Women's Society of St. Casimir. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, May 1st, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Church.
