John Fuller, 80, who was born May 2, 1923 in Csibrak, Hungary, passed away due to a terminal illness at home, with his family at his side on Feb. 1. He was born and raised in Hungary and married his wife, Anna, on Nov. 6, 1948, in Germany, with whom he enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 55 years. John was preceded in death by his parents, Magdalena and Johann Fuller, and his sister, Katherine Fricker. John is survived by his wife, Anna; children, Olga (Juan) Arellano of Okemos, Mich., and Fabian (Pam) Fuller of South Bend; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Amy and Nathaniel Fuller. He was a master tailor and head of the alterations department at Gilbert's Store for 23 years, followed by 10 years at Redwood and Ross. John loved hunting, fishing and gardening, and followed Notre Dame Football religiously. He was a member of Holy Family Church, VIC Seniors Club, Sage Club and the German Club, where he and Anna loved to dance. Visitation will be on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Funeral services will be on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Donations may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County and to Holy Family Church. Published in the South Bend Tribune; Feb. 3, 2004.
