SOUTH BEND - John B. Romano Jr., 67, passed away at 11:10 a.m. on Friday, April 11th, in his residence. John was born on May 18, 1940, in South Bend, to the late John B. and Louise (Camerario) Romano Sr. On June 9, 1962, in South Bend, John married Pearl (Tarr). She survives along with their children, Annette Romano of Mishawaka and John (Laurie) Romano of South Bend; a brother, Joseph Romano of South Bend; and nephews, Joe (Kathy) Romano of Goshen and Brian Romano of Plymouth. John worked as a machine operator at Smurfit Stone Container for 20 years. He was an usher at Holy Family Catholic Church were he was a parishioner. He enjoyed going to watch baseball at Coveleski Stadium. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 14, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, in Holy Family Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery, South Bend, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
