BREMEN - Edwin Joseph De Schepper, 90, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, November 21 in his home. Edwin was born on May 10, 1923 in Bryan, OH to Alphonse and Irma (Van Holsbeck) De Schepper. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son at birth, David; two sisters, Mary E. Rogers and Estella M. Houghton and a brother, Cyril De Schepper. He attended Madison Twp. School and St. Bavo Catholic School in Mishawaka. He worked at Mishawaka Equipment which led to his own business De Schepper Farm Supply. Edwin was a past President of St. Joseph County Dairy Association, past board member of Production Credit Association, a past delegate of AMPI of Northern Indiana, a member of Lions Club, an active member of St. Dominic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. He worked until his 88th birthday and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. On August 25, 1951 he married Eleanor Theresa Houin in Plymouth, IN. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Susan (Andrew) Spangle of Bourbon, IN; sons, Dennis (Audrey) De Schepper of Bremen, Douglas (Debra) De Schepper of Bremen, Dale (Lynn) De Schepper of Osceola, Donald De Schepper of Bremen and Daniel (Stefanie) of Osceola. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, November 24 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, on Monday, November 25 in St. Dominic Catholic Church, Bremen with Fr. Bob Lengerich officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Dominic Building Fund, 803 W. Bike Street, Bremen, IN 46506 or the Center for Hospice, Hospice Foundation, 4220 Edison Lakes Pkwy Ste 200, Mishawaka, IN 46545-1440.
