SOUTH BEND - Paul Geza Varga, beloved husband, father, father-in-law, nudpapa, and brother passed away surrounded by his family in his home on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Paul was born in South Bend, IN on July 7, 1944 to the late Irene & Geza Varga. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Grace Horvath and brother, Stephen Yuhasz. On May 6, 1972 Paul married his best friend and love of his life, Jill (Moden) Varga; she survives along with their daughter, Jennifer Parrett, her husband TJ, and their children Tommy & Brantlee. Paul is also survived by his sister, Gertrude Stec; two nephews who held a very special place in Paul's heart, Frank Stec & Jason Hutchison, along with many other nieces & nephews. Paul was a proud Army Veteran who served our country. He retired from AM General after 46 years of service. In addition he was the owner of Varga's Nursery. Paul was a proud member of the American Legion Post 284, VFW Post 1954, and UAW Local 5. He enjoyed anything patriotic, his collection of Harley Davidson's, and spending time at the lake. One of his favorite past times was “assisting” his son-in-law TJ, who he really considered a son, in any kind of handyman project, even though he wasn't allowed to use a hammer. Most of all Paul loved being with his family, especially “The Boys” his twin grandsons. Visitation for Paul will be held from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, December 3, 2017 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 4, 2017 in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to Memorial Children's Hospital, 100 E. Navarre St., South Bend, IN 46601, the Ronald McDonald House, 610 N.
