Clarence Donald Carter Jr “Don”, 66 from Decatur, MI was called home November 30, 2022. Don was born January 18, 1956 to Clarence Donald Carter Sr. and Marie Elaine (Spencer) CarterDon graduated from Dowagiac Union High School. In 1976, Don married the love of his life Brenda Elaine Henslee. Don and Brenda had two children Gregory and David. In his early years Don helped his mom and dad with the family auction business. Don worked as a lift truck operator at various warehouses until his recent retirement. Don loved his family and fishing. Don also had a unique interest in reptiles; especially snakes. You would often find Don off in the woods or on river banks searching for snakes. Don also loved science fiction movies and playing card games with family. Don is survived by his mother Marie Carter of Dowagiac, Aunt and Uncle Susie and Dale Newton of Dowagiac, Aunt Marilyn Carter of Dowagiac, sister in law Trina Carter of Decatur, nephew Robbie Carter of Decatur, niece Kasie (Troy) Ring of Bowling Green, Ky and numerous cousins. Don is also survived by his in laws; mother in law Anna Henslee of Dowagiac, brother and sister in laws Denver (Janet) Henslee Jr. of Decatur, Lisa (Brad) Spillman of Wingo, Ky, Patricia (Royce) Norris of Pullman, Scott (Traci) Henslee of Decatur, Billie (Terry) Smith of Dowagiac and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was proceeded in death by his wife Brenda, sons Greg and David, father Clarence Sr., brother Robert, sister Kandy, grandparents Clarence and Ruth Carter and Charles and Florence Spencer, Uncles Gene Carter, Chuck Spencer, Harold Spencer, and Aunt Pat Jessup. Cremation will take place and Don will be laid to rest beside his wife and sons at a later date. Those wishing to leave an online condolence may do so at www.purelycremations.org.
