Matthew Tomsits , 84, residing in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, died at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, in the center. Matthew was born on May 9, 1914, in Mishawaka, Ind., to Ludwig and Mary (Berger) Tomsits , and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He had spent his life as a farmer. Matthew is survived by his nieces, Margaret Fassett and Rose Zircher, both of South Bend, Ind., Mildred Reynolds of Griffin, Ga., and Irene Tomsits in Michigan. Six nephews also survive, Michael Zircher, John Zircher and Joseph Tomsits , all of South Bend, Robert Tomsits of Fort Wayne, Ind., Dale Tomsits and Dean Tomsits , both in Michigan. Services for Matthew Tomsits will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lakeville, Ind., with Rev. James F. Stoyle officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, where a prayer service will be held at 4 p.m. today.
