Marvin Gerald Mangus, 80, residing in South Bend, died early Saturday morning, April 16, 2022 in his home. He was born August 10, 1941 in South Bend, the son of the late Gerald & Gladys (Hogue) Mangus, and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. On February 29, 1968 in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Alice P. Mitschelen. He is survived by his wife Alice of 53 years, along with a niece Rita Wilson of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his son Charles Mangus in 1986, a brother, Norman, and step-sister Beverly Wilson. Marvin was a member of Christ Chapel in South Bend. He retired as a Fabricator with ALRO. Services will be at Noon Friday, April 22, 2022 at Christ Chapel 3402 S. Locust Road, South Bend, with Rev. Steve Sumrall officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at South Union Cemetery, Nappanee, IN. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the Church. Contributions in memory of Marvin may be offered to Christ Chapel or to Riley Children’s Hospital, 705 Riley Hospital Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
