SOUTH BEND - Frank Czelatko, 90, passed away in peace at Hospice House in Elkhart in the company of his wife, Veronica. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Bertha (Murawski) Czelatko. Frank and Veronica (McMullan) were married 65 years, having wed at St. Hyacinth Church in Paterson, NJ, where they met. They were longtime residents of Hawthorne, NJ, active parishioners of St. Anthony Church, and Frank was a member of the Hawthorne Auxiliary Police. They then moved to South Bend after retiring in 1986 and joined St. Patrick Parish. Frank was always active in church support and seniors groups. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, and always found time and pleasure keeping busy with hobbies and handy work. Frank was an Army veteran of World War II serving with the Combat Engineers and sustained injuries in training for deployment prior to D-Day. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled Veterans of America. Frank was also a member of the Postal Workers Union and served in the Post Office for more than 20 years. Prior to that Frank ran his own watch repair business. Frank will be missed by his three children, Patricia (Chuck) LeGuern of Granger, IN, Edwin (LuAnn) Czelatko of Greenwich, NJ, and Theresa (Thomas) Hauer of Hawthorne, NJ. He also will be missed by his five grandchildren, Anthony LeGuern of Indianapolis, Kathleen (Sean) LeGuern-Duckett of Canonsburg, PA, Maureen (Adam) LeGuern-Springmeyer of Pittsburgh, PA, and Michelle and Stephanie Hauer of Hawthorne, NJ. Frank was also the great-grandfather of two, Keira and Darcie Duckett, both of Canonsburgh, PA. In addition to his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Frank leaves a brother, Joseph (Sophie) Czelatko of Lewisburg, PA. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm on Friday, May 8, 2015, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2015, in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
