South Bend, IN-Charleen M. Hixenbaugh, 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Charleen was born in Mishawaka, IN, on April 17, 1940, to the former Maurice and Marcella (DeMeulenaere) Vercruysse. Charleen married George Hixenbaugh who has preceded her in death. Also preceding Charleen in death is her son, Curt Camerer; and a sister, Mildred Vercruysse. Surviving Charleen is her daughter, Cristy Camerer; and close friend, Vickie Woodward. Charleen worked for many years at IN Source as a child’s advocate for the State of Indiana. Per Charleen’s wishes, there will be no services. Hahn Funeral Home will be entrusted with handling the arrangements.
