Vera D. Wells Hogue

Vera Dee WELLS HOGUE, 93, of 417 Fulton Ave., died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday following an extended illness. She was a resident of Canterbury Manor Nursing Home. She was born April 7, 1893 in Kalkaska County, Mich., to O.M. and Kathryn RHODES WELLS. She had lived here for 60 years. In 1912 she was married to Harry H. HOGUE who preceded in death. She was the former owner of the Rochester City Dairy and belonged to the Child Study Club and Froebel Club. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Kathryn) SISSEL, Rochester, and Mrs. Leo H. (Harriett) FEECE, South Bend; six grandchildren, Nancy LUCKENBILL, Rochester; Barbara LOWE, Macy; Tom SISSEL, Burlington, Vt.; Lynn WALSH, Belton, Texas; Dennis FEECE, South Bend, and Carol KUGMICZ, Walkerton; eleven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held today for the family with the Rev. Teal YOUNCE officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, South Bend, with Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home handling the arrangements. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Fulton County Library.
