South Bend - Harold A. Smith, 86, of 23rd Street, died at 2:40 a.m. today in Greenspring Manor. Mr Smithretired from Kindig Bros. Inc. as an outboard mechanic. He was born Nov. 13, 1908, in South Bend, and was a lifetime area resident. On Nov. 11, 1936, in south Bend, he married Irma A. Pauwells. She survives with two sisters, Ruth Kindig of South Bend and Esther Oberle of Palm Harbor, Fl; and several neices and nephews. There will be no services or visitation. Cremation will take place with burial in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Hollis-Orvis-Palmer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangments. Memorial contributions may be made to Cancer Society of St. Joseph County.
